WINERY TOUR

1. How many wineries and breweries do we visit on the tour?

On every Bushtucker Gourmet Winery Tour, we visit 4 wineries (which we alter daily) and 1 brewery. The wineries visited on the day are a combination of small boutique cellar doors and also larger icon cellar doors. The brewery visited daily is one of 6 in the region, Bootleg, Duckstein, Colonial,Cowaramup Brewery, Occys Brewery or Bush Shack, of Yallingup.

2. Is there a set itinerary for the winery tour?

We do not have a set itinerary for every tour. We do however visit 4 wineries, 1 brewery and both the Margaret River Cheese Company and Margaret River Chocolate Company on every tour. The itinerary is created by your guide on the day.
Everyone is most welcome to make any request for places that they would like to visit on the day, however we have to take into consideration the location of requests as we don’t want all our guests sitting on a bus for hours so we can get to one location!

3. How many people are on the bus?

The maximum amount of guests on our buses at one time is 21 people. Alternately a deluxe tour, in the deluxe vehicle, has 12 or less passengers- please request this tour if interested.

4. What does lunch consist of?

Our Gourmet lunch is prepared by Bushtucker, which we present at one of the wineries visited on the day. Lunch is a sit down meal with plates, cutlery and glasses for wine and water. Our lunch is an antipasto style lunch with a twist! We offer
different types of dips, pesto’s, chutney’s, relishes, a large selection of marinated vegetables, smoked and roasted meats, cheese, salad and local selection of breads. There is also the option of trying some of our native bush foods, which also includes our famous Witjuti Grub Pate! This is a very wholesome and filling meal, no one will walk away unsatisfied!

5. Do we pick up outside of the Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River area?

We do have a 10km radius north of Busselton and south of Margaret River which our buses will pick up from.
However we can make other arrangements to make sure you can get on our tours, anything is possible!

6. What is and what isn’t included in the price?

Included in the price is all wine tastings, tastings at both the Margaret River Cheese Company and Margaret River Chocolate Company, lunch is also included in the price of the tour.
Tastings at the Brewery visited on the day are not included; however Bushtucker Tour guests received great discounts off any beers purchased. Also not included is wine with lunch, guests can purchase a glass or a bottle to consume with their meal.

7. What do you need to bring on the winery tour?

Not a lot! We recommend bringing your camera, money and/ or cards if you want to purchase any wine or goodies over the day and bottle of water.

CANOE TOUR

1. What happens on the Canoe Tour?

Guests will enjoy flat water canoeing in Canadian canoes, paddling up-stream to visit a number of sites along the riverbank.
We will then explore the bush, walking along the ridge to a cave within the cliff-face. The Bushtucker lunch gives you the
opportunity to taste a variety of bush tucker (and includes gourmet food), and learn about the medicinal properties of plants found within the area. A great experience is completed with historical tales concerning original settlers and indigenous tribes.
Finish the day with a canoe race back to the river mouth!

2. How many people in a canoe?

Our canoes are Canadian style canoes, which hold maximum of 5 adults; children can be seated next to parents.

3. Do you have to paddle yourself?
YES! The Margaret River is very calm and flat watered, so there is no real strenuous paddling on the day!

4. How fit do you need to go on the canoe tour?

You don’t need to be overly fit. We try to place guests with experienced and non experienced canoeists to make it easier for everyone. We do go on a 1.5km bush walk, but this is at your own pace and it’s not difficult. We recommend all ages and fitness levels!

5. What does lunch consist of?

Our lunch is presented by your Bushtucker guide, on the banks of the river. We offer a large selection of dips, pesto’s, chutney’s, relishes, smoked meats which include kangaroo, emu and turkey, bush salad and selection of local bread.
There is also the option of trying some of our native bushfoods, which includes our famous Witjuti Grub pate! Lunch is a very wholesome and filling, no one will leave unsatisfied!

‘We cater for any special dietary requirements such as vegetarians and gluten free, though be sure to let our office staff know at the time of booking!’

6. Do we offer pick up service?

We do offer a pick up service for any guest staying in Margaret River that does not have their own transport. Our vehicle can only hold small number of passengers so we can not guarantee pick up. However the tour starting point is only 5km from the township. Unfortunately we do not pick up from outside the Margaret River town area.

7. What do you need to bring on the canoe tour?

We recommend bringing sunscreen, hat, shoes (either enclosed or opened), bathers, bottled water and definitely your camera!
